Do medical shows on television really give an accurate depiction of what is like to work in healthcare? Our informal research shows that it depends on who you ask. Here are our findings:
The Work Environment
Some healthcare workers say that the fast-paced environment and stressful work is basically a truthful interpretation, with the exception that it does not happen in an hour’s time. Others say that it is inaccurate, especially the amount of positive outcomes.
If there is any place where you would witness unusual circumstances, it is in a hospital, and more specifically, the ER. And, many healthcare workers say that it definitely worse during the full moon.
Romance and Sex
As in any job where you work in close proximity with the opposite sex, it is human nature to experience attraction. Whether or not steamy sex acts occur on the hospital grounds actually depends on who you ask. Some people say you are too busy for such acts of unprofessionalism. Others say that in a place with an abundance of beds, it’s been known to happen.

As a result, for the majority healthcare careers, you need to remain focused in a fast-paced and stressful work environment. Additionally, you should also be prepared to see anything at any time, and you must keep a cool head about it.
Finally, it is important that you understand that healthcare is a business in which you need to maintain professionalism at all times, but meeting your soul mate is not out of the realm of possibilities. Although, it is best to keep your personal life and professional life separate.
