Medical Billing & Coding Program

This career training program can help open the door to the exciting healthcare field for those who prefer to work with data rather than with patients.

The health care industry has a growing need for professionals with knowledge in medical office operations*. Billing, insurance form processing and familiarity with medical software are all necessary skills for the smooth operation of virtually any medical office. Health Information Specialists and Medical Billing & Coding Specialists are in-demand.*

Medical Billing & Coding professionals are organized, detail-oriented individuals who like to use the computer and are talented multi-taskers.

This program can teach you the skills needed to perform the processing of medical billings, proper reporting functions, and secure health information management. Upon successful completion of your courses, you can pursue career opportunities as either a Medical Biller or a Medical Records Assistant.

The Medical Billing and Coding training program is available at most schools as either a day or evening course. It is designed to prepare you for entry-level opportunities that may involve:

• Structure and analysis of health data
• Management of retention and reimbursement systems for health insurance claims
• File analysis and management, health care statistics and health record evaluation
